Corbel Collective was founded by me, Annie Michaels Liao, an Organizational Development practitioner with a background in L&D, Operations, and Marketing.

It is a consulting practice grounded in the understanding that as work evolves, so must the ways leaders plan, structure, and support their organizations.

The current pace of change, especially in regard to the proliferation of AI in ever-increasing applications, as well as the very ways teams collaborate in remote and hybrid environments, is accelerating faster than many can keep up with. These realities are particularly challenging for leaders who are committed to doing right by their people, even as the landscape keeps shifting.

I’m inspired by the leaders and teams daring to build workplaces where both organizations and the people who power them can thrive. And I am committed to supporting those who are ready to shape what’s next.

Working Together

Consulting clients work directly with me, but I don’t work in a silo! And that’s by design. One of the most important lessons I learned early in my career is that the best solutions are rarely created alone.

That’s where the “Collective” comes in.

Behind the name is a trusted network of bright professionals across organizational development, training, design, research, coaching, and communications who bring complementary strengths. These are professionals I’ve worked alongside, learned from, and continue to partner with for their depth and perspective.

I will never pretend to have all the answers, but I know how to ask the questions that will unlock solutions, and how to bring the right people to the table when the moment calls for it.  

About Annie

I am a Prosci®-Certified Change Manager with a special focus on AI Adoption. And I have completed the OD Network’s Global Competency Framework Certificate.

But beyond the credentials, I’ve spent the past two decades immersed in the unique dynamics of organizations across industries, from hospitality and manufacturing to publishing, higher education, and nonprofits. This broad exposure allows me to understand complexity from all angles and deliver tailored, practical solutions. It’s one of the greatest assets I bring to any consulting engagement.

Since 2017, I've led fully remote and hybrid teams in a variety of contexts including:

  • An established publicly traded company with a rigid organizational matrix structure

  • An agile tech start-up finding breaking into international market

  • A mission-driven nonprofit putting down roots and laying the groundwork for long-term impact

I specialize in process consulting, change management, and strategic advising, helping organizations uncover and address the friction points that stall progress. I partner closely with leaders and stakeholders to help leaders and teams reconnect with how they work best. That’s the part I find most meaningful: helping people rediscover how to work well, together.
